Primavera Festival 2011: Several Thousands Attend Festival’s Inaugural Year

The first annual Primavera Festival in Playa del Carmen on the Riviera Maya successfully welcomed spring with 10,000 partiers enjoying four days of amazing day and night parties with top DJs Lee Burridge, Sander Kleinenberg and Sasha during the Semana Santa holiday week.

Sunny, beautiful weather — without a drop of rain — greeted partygoers from all around Mexico, North America, and beyond at the inaugural Primavera Festival, held at the best clubbing hotspots in Playa del Carmen. Created by the founders of the popular annual BPM Festival, Primavera has already named “BPM’s little sister festival,” because it gives the Mexican audience especially a chance to experience BPM’s special brand of high quality parties.

Highlights included a packed house at La Santanera for U.K.’s infamous globetrotter Lee Burridge, who was a festival favorite because of his great music and magnetic personality. Lee was spotted all around the festival, at Canibal Royale and at Blue Parrot Beach Club to see fellow DJ and Dutch dance music master Sander Kleinenberg, who played an amazing set. And about 2,000 people attended innovative electronic icon Sasha’s “Garden of Eden” party at Blue Parrot Beach Club, which was filled with colorful flowers, lush green leaves, and giant butterflies that put everyone in the mood to dance.

The day parties at Canibal Royal and Kool Beach Club were a packed with sunshine revelers. Canibal Royal was especially favored by locals and internationals alike, while the Kool Beach closing party with festival-favorites Michelangelo and Lauren Lane was a huge, packed success. Finally, Guillaume and The Coutu Dumonts’ set with live electronic percussion helping to end the festival with a bang.

Please stay tuned for announcements on next year’s Primavera Festival and the BPM Festival’s blow-fifth year anniversary in 2012!
